CANNED FOOD LABELS
There are tens of thousands of can labels
floating around out there in "labeldom."
Labels from nearly every state in the union, covering 125 years of canneries
and American printing, with dozens of printers creating them across the
country for countless Billions of cans. Can labels vary in price as widely
as they do in number. There are dozens of sources of these labels, and lots
of dealers try to find them. Some sell at auction and private sale between
$50. and $100.! Mostly, though, they are in the under $20.00 range, Some
are available in large quantities, usually ones from after the 1930s. But, by far, most of these number in known quantities
of less than 20. Can labels come in several sizes,
based on the sise of the can they were intended to wrap around. They also
were used for myriad types of commodities, including:
